Gerardo Manuel (1946–2003) was a pioneering Peruvian rock musician, singer, and radio and television personality who helped introduce and popularize rock music in Peru. Beginning his career in the 1960s with bands such as Los Doltons and Los Shain’s, he later fronted Gerardo Manuel & El Humo, fusing psychedelic and hard rock with Latin influences. Renowned for his charismatic presence and dedication to promoting rock culture, he became a central figure in shaping Peru’s modern music scene and inspiring generations of musicians.
