Gerry & The Holograms is a Situationist-influenced masked art-rock studio duo from England, created by Manchester's CP Lee, known for his work with Albertos Y Lost Trios Paranoias, and producer John Scott, who is recognized for his electronic excursions. The duo initially gained attention with their first single, which was their only recorded output for a long time until more material surfaced in 2017. Their second single was a conceptual anti-record, adhering to the Situationist art tradition, as each record was glued into its picture sleeve, rendering it completely unplayable. This unique approach rivaled Peter Saville and Durutti Column’s Debordist sandpaper re-hash by at least three years. Emerging from the electronic remnants of Manchester’s first genuine psychedelic band and evolving through various musical influences, including prog and experimental theatre, Gerry & The Holograms' discography is considered one of the most idiosyncratic and enigmatic artifacts of the post-punk era. In 1982, the duo made a reappearance alongside other artists.
