Gershon Jackson, born on September 2, 1971, in Chicago, Illinois, is a DJ, producer, and songwriter recognized for his contributions to house and hip-house music. He began his career in the early 1990s in Chicago's club scene, performing under the alias DJ Shon. His early tracks include “Y’all Be Eazy,” “Kan U Pump It,” and “Houze Muzik All Nite Long.” In 1995, he achieved club and chart success with the single “Rejoice,” featuring Kim English, released on Big Beat/Atlantic. Jackson's collaboration with Kim English on the track “Nite Life” reached #10 on the Billboard Dance chart and #20 on the UK Dance Singles Chart. In the 2010s, he founded a label and returned to the music scene with releases such as “Take It Easy” (Strictly Rhythm/Defected, 2016) and “Huggin’ & A Luvin’” (Omni Music Solutions, 2017), both of which gained renewed attention in the house music community.
