Gershon Kingsley was a German-American composer of German-Jewish origin, born on October 28, 1922, in Bochum, Germany. He passed away on December 10, 2019. Kingsley was a pioneer in electronic music and the Moog synthesizer. He is best known for writing and producing the original version of "Pop Corn," which was covered in 1972 and became a hit. The song has since been covered approximately 40 to 50 more times.
