Ghédalia Tazartès (May 12, 1947 - February 9, 2021) was a French artist known for his nomadic approach to music. Born in Paris, he explored a diverse range of musical expressions, moving from chant to rhythm and seamlessly transitioning between different vocal styles. Tazartès blended electric sounds with vocal traditions, drawing inspiration from both muezzin psalmody and rock music. His work created abstract landscapes where elements such as the mitre of a white clown, the plumes of a sorcerer, the helmet of a cop, and Parisian anhydride intersected in unique polyphonic ceremonies.
