Ghia was a home recording and studio project based in Bielefeld, Germany, founded in 1983 by longtime friends Lutz Boberg and Frank Simon. The duo released two singles during their time together. In 1985, they began collaborating with singer Lisa Ohm, whom they met through a former teacher working as an engineer at the local Cottage studio. Boberg and Simon composed the songs and wrote the lyrics, with Boberg, trained in classical piano, handling the keyboards and bass, while Simon focused on the technical aspects and played guitar.
