Giancarlo Toniutti is an artist known for his work in electroacoustic improvisation, beginning in 1978 with Tiziano Dominighini, with whom he formed the duo "airthrob in." In the late 1980s, he expanded his musical palette by incorporating a Crumar analog synthesizer. Toniutti studied electronic music at the Conservatory in Venice from 1982 to 1985 under Alvise Vidolin. Since 1985, he has focused exclusively on acoustic sound sources, utilizing analog treatments such as magnetic tape. His artistic interests extend to visuals, installations, and other art forms, which are evident in many of his works and the "sound sites" he creates. He has collaborated with various artists throughout his career.
