Giles, Giles & Fripp was formed in September 1967 in Bournemouth, UK, as a trio consisting of Robert Fripp on guitar, Michael Giles on drums and vocals, and Peter Giles on bass and vocals. In June 1968, they briefly added Judy Dyble on vocals and Ian McDonald on sax, keyboards, and vocals, making them a quintet. During this time, they created several home recordings, including the notable “I Talk To The Wind.” The group released one full album and two singles, which, despite not achieving commercial success, were regarded as interesting by the music press. Between November 1968 and January 1969, the remaining members, excluding Peter Giles, were joined by Greg Lake and later by roadie Peter Sinfield, eventually changing their name to King Crimson.
