Ginette Reno is a Canadian author, composer, singer, and actress born on April 28, 1946, in Montréal, Québec. She began her singing career in 1960 and gained recognition by winning the talent contest "Les Découvertes De Jean Simon." Following this success, she secured her first professional contract at three clubs in Montreal: Café Caprice, Le Café De l'Est, and another. Her impresario suggested that she adopt the stage name Reno, a phonetic spelling of her real last name. Throughout her career, Reno has received nominations for the Genie and Gemini Awards and is a multi-recipient of the Juno Award, achieving gold and platinum sales as a Canadian artist.
