Gino Soccio is a Canadian disco producer, singer, songwriter, arranger, and multi-instrumentalist, born on September 9, 1955, in Montreal. Of Italian descent, he began studying piano at the age of 8 and started renting electronic keyboards and synthesizers for his home studio by the age of 18. He gained recognition when a producer asked him to play keyboards and write a tune for a group, ultimately contributing significantly to the entire LP. Soccio achieved notable success on the US Hot Dance Music/Club Play chart, hitting #1 twice with "Dancer" / "Dance to Dance" in 1979 and "Try It Out" / "Hold Tight" in 1981, each for six weeks. His third biggest hit, "It's Alright"/"Look At Yourself," from his acclaimed album "Face to Face," reached #2 for five weeks on the same chart. In 1984, he released "Turn it Around" as a single-only. Additionally, Soccio assembled and produced a disco studio group, known for their Top 10 dance hit "Bang A Gong" / "All Right Now" in 1979. He also owns a YouTube channel where he posted three unreleased songs during the 2000s: https://www.youtube.com/user/GinoSoccio1955.
