Giovanni Fusco was an Italian composer born on October 10, 1906, in Sant'Agata de' Goti, Italy. He passed away on June 1, 1968, in Rome, Italy. Fusco is renowned for scoring many of Michelangelo Antonioni's Neorealist films from the early 1950s through the mid-1960s. He was known for creating subtle film scores with minimal instrumentation that complemented the on-screen situations effectively. Fusco studied piano and composition at the Accademia di Santa Cecilia in Rome and made his debut in film scoring with the 1936 documentary "Il Cammino degli Eroi." In addition to his work with Antonioni, he also collaborated with other directors, including Alain Resnais on "Hiroshima, Mon Amour" (in collaboration with Georges Delerue, 1959) and "La Guerre Est Finie" (1966).
