Glass Sun was an American psychedelic rock band from Westland, Michigan, active in the early 1970s. The band was formed by the Roll brothers, Rick (bass, vocals) and Bruce (guitar), along with their friend Danny Sills (drums). They initially came together in 1964 as The Cyclones, performing at local dances and Battle Of The Bands events with a repertoire of early rock'n'roll and Beatles covers. After serving in Vietnam, the brothers reunited with Sills to form Glass Sun at the end of the 1960s. The band was influenced by the emerging wave of heavy bands and recorded two singles for a local label between 1971 and 1972, each pressed in a limited quantity of 300 copies. Unfortunately, like many local singles from that era, both 45s went largely unnoticed at the time but were later rediscovered by fans of US garage, psych, and hard rock. Although the trio continued to perform together for many years, they did not release any additional material.
