Glenda Collins, born on December 16, 1943, began her career at the age of 12 when she successfully auditioned for several Carroll Levis Discoveries for the BBC's Light Programme. This opportunity led to appearances in children's TV and radio, as well as a season in The Joe Lynch Show at London's Metropolitan Theatre in 1959. At 16, her father Eric took her to Levy Studios in Bond Street to record demos, which he presented to Decca Records' A&R man Mike Smith. Glenda signed with Decca, releasing three singles, but was dropped when none achieved chart success. Following this, she took an office job and sang part-time at weddings and in cabaret until those opportunities dwindled. She effectively retired from music until 1999, when she recorded a cover of "Avenues and Alleyways" for the compilation album "Cult Themes from the 1970's, Vol. 2," produced by Russell C. Writer.
