Gloria Lynn, born Gloria Wilson on November 23, 1931, in New York, was a talented Soul, R&B, Jazz Bop, and Pop singer. She was the daughter of a gospel singer and began her musical journey singing in church. Gloria gained recognition after winning first prize during an "Amateur Night" at the Apollo Theater. In the 1950s, she recorded with various groups and later pursued a solo career in the 1960s, achieving small hits with songs like "June Night," "Love I Found You," and "I Wish You Love." After a hiatus, she made a comeback in the 1990s, receiving the International Women of Jazz Award in 1996. Throughout her career, Gloria Lynn amassed nearly 400 recordings. She was also featured in interviews for the black history project "History Makers" in 2008, where she confirmed her date of birth. Gloria Lynn passed away on October 15, 2013, due to a heart attack.
