Gloria y Noemí Gil, also known as Las hermanas Gil, were a Mexican musical duo formed in the late 1970s by sisters Noemí and Josefina. After Josefina left the duo to focus on raising her children, she was replaced by their younger sister, Gloria. All three sisters were born in Argentina and later migrated to Mexico with their parents, where they settled permanently and obtained Mexican nationality. Noemí and Josefina began their musical career by forming "Las hermanas Gil," releasing their first album and making their television debut on the show "Variedades de media noche." Following Josefina's departure, Gloria and Noemí became known as Las Gil or simply Gloria y Noemí. They recorded five more albums during the 1980s and appeared on various programs, collaborating with both Mexican and international composers. In the early 1990s, they recorded the album "Únete a los optimistas" alongside other artists, including Francisco Xavier, Coque Muñiz, Ivonne, and La Onda Vaselina. During this time, Gloria married Carlos Daniel Bautista. They released their seventh and final album before retiring from the music industry. Gloria went on to raise three children, Daniel (DJ), Mario (singer), and Jan Carlo (actor), who inherited her artistic inclinations.
