Golden Smog is a country folk rock group hailing from Minneapolis, Minnesota, USA, founded in 1989. The band is a loosely connected ensemble of musicians, featuring members from various notable groups. Although the lineup has frequently changed, key contributors to all of their recordings include guitarists Kraig Johnson (from Run Westy Run), Dan Murphy (from Soul Asylum), and Gary Louris (from The Jayhawks), along with bassist Marc Perlman (also from The Jayhawks).
