Gong is a psychedelic rock band formed in France in 1969. They are recognized as pioneers of psychedelic rock and were associated with the Canterbury scene. Over the years, the band experienced numerous lineup changes. After the departure of Allen, the band continued for a short time under a new leader, eventually evolving into various incarnations with a more jazz-rock style. The band has had several offshoots, which exist in chronological order.
