Goran Bregović, born on March 22, 1950, in Sarajevo, Bosnia-Herzegovina, is a renowned musician and composer recognized for his contributions to Bosnian pop-rock and Romani world-folk music. He is one of the most identifiable modern composers from the Balkans, blending South Slavic and Romani themes in his work. Bregović began his musical career with the rock band 'Bijelo Dugme,' which played a pivotal role in shaping the Yugoslav rock scene during the late 1970s and mid-1980s. In 1989, he ventured into film music and gained international acclaim for his scores in films such as "Time of the Gypsies," "Arizona Dream," and "Underground."
