Gordon Beck was an English jazz pianist born on September 16, 1935, in London, England. He passed away on November 6, 2011, in Ely, Cambridgeshire, England. Beck began his career working with Tubby Hayes from 1962 to 1965 and later led his own band. He also collaborated with Phil Wood's European Rhythm Machine and Gyroscope. From 1974 onwards, he worked as a freelance musician, performing with notable jazz artists such as Gary Burton, Lena Horne, Clark Terry, and Charles Tolliver.
