Gordon Jenkins was an American pianist, conductor, composer, and arranger, born on May 12, 1910, in Webster Groves, Missouri. He passed away on May 1, 1984, in Malibu, California. Jenkins was married to a coloratura soprano singer (later divorced) and to another singer. Throughout his career, he collaborated with notable figures such as Isham Jones, Paul Whiteman, Benny Goodman, and Lennie Heyton, and worked for Paramount Pictures and NBC in Hollywood. In recognition of his contributions to music, he was inducted into the Songwriters Hall of Fame in 1982.
