The State Academic Russian Choir named after A. V. Sveshnikov, founded in 1936 by Alexandr Sveshnikov, is one of the principal choirs of Russia. The choir has had several conductors over the years, including Alexandr Sveshnikov from 1936 to 1980, Igor Agafonnikov from 1980 to 1987, Vladimir Minin from 1987 to 1990, Yevgeny Tytyanko from 1991 to 1995, Igor Raevskiy from 1995 to 2007, and Boris Tevlin from 2008 to 2012.
