Grauzone was a Swiss Neue Deutsche Welle/post-punk band formed in 1980 in Bern, Switzerland. The group disbanded in 1982 and is best known for their songs "Eisbär" and "Film 2." The band initially consisted of drummer and bassist Christian Trüssel (known as GT), who had previously played in one of the first Swiss punk bands. In late 1979, they teamed up with vocalist and guitarist Marco, who had supported them on the Glueams single "Mental." Grauzone played their first gig at the Spex club in Bern in March 1980. Later, Martin's brother joined on guitar, and a saxophonist completed the lineup for live performances and recordings. Grauzone achieved commercial success with "Eisbär," which was included in the 1980 Swiss Wave compilation and later released as a single, reaching number 6 in Austria and number 12 in Germany. However, the band rejected commercial pressures, performing only a few gigs and refusing to play "Eisbär" live, instead focusing on film and studio work. In July and August of 1981, Grauzone, now without bassist GT, recorded their only self-titled LP, released in late 1981 across continental Europe and the UK through EMI. Tensions regarding the band's direction led to Marco's departure in early 1982. Afterward, a new bassist joined for what would be the band's final recording session
