Gregg Wright is an American guitarist, singer, and songwriter born in New Jersey. He began his professional career in the mid-1970s on the U.S. Southern circuit, performing one-nighters across the Carolinas, Georgia, Alabama, Florida, Louisiana, and Texas, often opening for prominent national touring acts such as Albert King and Freddie King. In the 1980s, Wright relocated from Louisiana to Los Angeles, where he became a session musician and "hired gun" touring guitarist. Throughout the next decade, he recorded and toured with notable artists including Mick Fleetwood, Michael Jackson, the Gap Band, Berlin, and Spencer Davis.
