Gregory Corso was a prominent writer associated with the Beat Movement, born in New York City on March 26, 1930. He gained recognition through the influence of fellow poet Allen Ginsberg. Corso passed away in Minneapolis, Minnesota, on January 17, 2001. Following his death, his ashes were interred in a tomb directly in front of the grave of his esteemed colleague, Percy Bysshe Shelley, at the English Cemetery in Rome.
