Le Groupe de Recherches Musicales (GRM) is a pioneering French public center in electro-acoustic research, founded in 1958. It succeeded the Groupe de Recherche de Musique Concrète (GRMC), established in 1951, which replaced the Studio d'Essai created by Pierre Schaeffer in 1944. Since 1975, GRM has been part of INA, often referred to as INA-GRM. The organization has published electro-acoustic music records under its own label. As of 2016, the GRM team includes a managing director, an artistic director, a production assistant for radio and webradio broadcasting, a head sound engineer for studio recording and concerts, several sound engineers for studio recording, concert, GRM Tools, and Acousmographe, a mastering sound engineer and GRM Tools teacher, personnel for concert management and archival development, printed material editors, a website publisher, and a secretary responsible for technical supply.
