Gruff Rhys is a singer, guitarist, and the main songwriter for the band Super Furry Animals. Before the formation of the band, he played in several other groups, including those signed to Creation Records. Known for his eclectic and eccentric style, Gruff has released multiple solo albums, starting with his debut album in 2005, which was recorded entirely in Welsh. He followed this with an album in 2007, and in 2011, he released an album that won the inaugural Welsh Music Prize. His subsequent releases include an album in 2014, a soundtrack for a film in 2016, an album in 2018, and another in 2019. In 2020, he released a Record Store Day album featuring raw recordings from 2016, which later led to the release of another album in 2021. Gruff has collaborated with various artists, including a notable project in 2008 with a concept album about John De Lorean, featuring a range of guest musicians. Their follow-up collaboration in 2013 was another concept album based on the life of an Italian publisher and activist. In 2010, he worked with Brazilian artist to release an album. Additionally, Gruff has contributed vocals to tracks for other artists, such as 'Just War' and 'Superfast Jellyfish.' In 2018, Gruff traveled to Johannesburg, South Africa, where he contributed to four tracks on an album released in 2019,
