Grupa ABC was a vocal-instrumental ensemble formed in January 1969 in Warsaw, originally under the name "Group O!". The first line-up included Zbigniew Karwański (saxophone), Aleksander Michalski (saxophone), Andrzej Mikołajczak (organ), an unnamed drummer, and Hubert Szymczyński (bass guitar, vocals). They made their debut on February 11, 1969, in "Telewizyjny Ekran Młodych," where they were named after their first hit, "My ABC," through a plebiscite. In April 1969, the band welcomed singers Jerzy Kozłowski and others. Grupa ABC also contributed to the music for a film directed by Andrzej Wajda. The band disbanded in 1973.
