Grupo Vera is a Venezuelan folklore music group founded on June 10, 1978, in La Victoria city, Aragua state. Among its founders are Juan Díaz, Aníbal Guerreiro, Ivan Salas, and Wilfredo Aristiguieta, the latter being the son of an iconic folklore singer. The group later expanded to include Boris Pedrá, Jorge Polo Medina, José Osta, Neisa Delgado, Mélida Lugo, Zuleima Heras, Fael Alvarado, and Ciro Herrera. Their repertoire focuses on Venezuelan coastal music, particularly from the Aragua state and Puerto Cabello, featuring styles such as fulías, parrandas, Jota Margariteña, polos, and tamunangues. In 1983, following the example of Grupo Folklorico Experimenta Madera, they established a Dance and Music School (Escuela Taller de Música y Folklore) aimed at promoting and disseminating folklore artistic expressions throughout the country. The school teaches how to play the instruments involved in musical expressions like Velorio de Cruz de Mayo, San Juan's Party, Diablos Danzantes, and Velorios de Angelitos, a typical tradition from Lara state, with a special emphasis on La Llora's Dance, an indigenous dance originating from La Victoria city.
