Günter Schickert was a German musician born on April 25, 1949. He learned to play the trumpet in 1962, but in 1967, he taught himself to play the guitar, which became his main instrument. In 1971, he began playing free jazz, and by 1973, he had started his first solo echo-guitar sessions. In 1976, he formed the group GAM alongside Axel Struck and Michael Leske. He passed away on December 23, 2025.
