Gunter Schickert was a German musician born on April 25, 1949. He began learning to play the trumpet in 1962 but taught himself guitar in 1967, which became his main instrument. In 1971, he started playing free jazz, and in 1973, he began his first solo echo-guitar sessions. In 1976, he formed the group GAM with Axel Struck and Michael Leske. He passed away on December 23, 2025.
