Gustav Brom

Gustav Brom was a Slovak bandleader, conductor, and musician, known for his skills on the saxophone and clarinet, as well as for being an occasional vocalist. He was born on May 22, 1921, in Veľké Leváre, Slovakia, and passed away on September 25, 1995, in Brno, Czech Republic. Brom led his orchestra from 1940 until his death. During World War II, he adopted the pseudonym "Gustav Brom" to avoid recognition by the German Nazi regime. After the war, in 1945, he officially changed his surname to Brom.
