Gusto, born Ed Greene in the Bronx, New York, began his rapping career in the mid-1980s and established and managed his own label. In the early 1990s, he transitioned to house music, achieving success with his track "Disco's Revenge." Before his music career took off, he worked as a residential specialist helper for people with disabilities.
