De Picciotto moved to Berlin in 1987, where she became the singer of The Space Cowboys and co-founded the first Love Parade in 1989. She has collaborated with various artists, including Gudrun Gut, and has been involved in multimedia projects, filming videos for Hacke and Einstürzende Neubauten. The couple married in 2006 and have worked together on numerous projects. Their notable releases include "The Ship of Fools" in 2008, an audiovisual interpretation of a 1495 novel, and "Hitman's Heel," an acoustic album released in 2011. In 2010, they adopted a nomadic lifestyle, touring Eastern Europe and participating in various artistic endeavors. Their first album credited as hackedepicciotto, "Menetekel," was released in 2017, followed by several other projects, including meditation soundtracks and "The Silver Threshold," their first album for Mute, released in 2021.
