Hal Singer was an American jazz and R&B saxophonist and bandleader, born on October 8, 1919, in Tulsa, Oklahoma. He passed away on August 18, 2020, in Chatou, Yvelines, France. Throughout his career, Hal worked with notable musicians such as Ernie Fields, Jay McShann, Oran "Hot Lips" Page, and Charles Brown. He also led his own small group, "The Orioles," and collaborated with Roy Eldridge, Coleman Hawkins, and others.
