Halogenix, a North London artist, is known for his dynamic and evolving career in music. Inspired by his father, a French horn player for the London Symphony Orchestra, Laurence's journey began with classical theory and various instruments before finding his true calling at 170 BPM. His breakthrough came in 2011 with his release on Noisia’s experimental imprint Invisible, featuring the track ‘Askari’. In 2012, he co-founded the influential collective Ivy Lab, which produced the iconic D&B track ‘Oblique’. The trio played a significant role in the halftime movement, creating timeless tracks like ‘20 Questions’, ‘Baby Grey’, and ‘Thirsty’. During his time with Ivy Lab until spring 2018, they collaborated with artists such as Roses Gabor and SHADES, launched the 20/20 LDN imprint, and helped elevate emerging talents like Shield and Havelock. Halogenix's solo work also made waves, particularly with his contributions to Critical Music’s Systems series, including the notable ‘Her Waves’. His debut EP on Metalheadz, ‘All Blue’, showcased his emotional and textural range, followed by the collaboration ‘Broken Man’ with Goldie. In 2017, he released two significant EPs: ‘Jump Suit’, featuring the standout track ‘The Night’ with SOLAH, and ‘Velvet’, which included ‘Blej’, one of the year’s most supported D&B tracks. His nominations for Best Production at the Drum&B
