**Bio: Hanatarash** Hanatarash is a noise unit from Osaka, founded in 1983 by Yamatsuka Eye. The name "ハナタラシ" (洟垂らし) translates to "sniveler," referring to a person with a snotty or runny nose, while others interpret it as "snot-nosed." The group is notorious for their extremely dangerous live performances, characterized by on-stage destruction and a blatant disregard for safety. One of the most infamous incidents involved Yamatsuka using a backhoe to throw junk around inside a venue. In another shocking moment, he inflicted a deep wound on his leg with an electrical saw but continued the performance. Additionally, a dead cat was reportedly cut in half during a show, and the band caused so much damage to a live house in Kyoto that it was forced to close. During a 1985 gig at Tokyo's Superloft, Hanatarash had the audience fill out forms releasing the band from responsibility for any potential bodily harm. The show was halted just before Yamatsuka was about to throw a lit molotov cocktail onto the gasoline-drenched stage, resulting in ¥600,000 ($6000) in repair costs for the venue. As a result of their reckless performances, Hanatarash faced difficulties finding venues to play. Yamatsuka later formed Ultra Freak Out Or Die, along with several other projects. The 1990s saw Hanatarash resurface
