Warren Harris, known as Hanna, is a prolific producer and multi-instrumentalist from Cleveland, Ohio. He has released a series of respected singles and albums over the past few years, including four full-length albums between 1999 and 2002: Severance, Scarlet Manifesto, Amen, and Contemplating Jazz. His work stretches and blurs the boundaries of house, techno, and jazz. Hanna prefers substance over trends, often avoiding the current productions of his peers. Instead, he draws inspiration from legendary musicians such as Carmen McCrae, Bill Evans, Thomas Whitfield, and Thelonious Monk. This approach results in a unique sound that merges their philosophies with electronic music, creating a blend that is both innovative and adventurous. His music evokes the imagery of a Sun Ra-inspired club on a distant planet, where futuristic melodies and harmonies intertwine with deep funk-filled grooves. His impressive discography features essential and classic releases on various labels, including Track Mode, Metamorphic, Sublime, Paper, R&S, Panhandle, Afterhours, and Deep Departures. Additionally, he has collaborated with Dan Curtin under the Key Of Soul alias.
