Hans Appelqvist is a Swedish composer and artist, born on March 28, 1977. He made his album debut in 2002 with "Tonefilm," an electronic album featuring samples from films, dialogues, and monologues. Appelqvist consistently incorporates spoken voices in his work. His EP "Att möta verklägtegen" includes interviews with a Chinese woman and a German lady, while "Bremort" features small radio drama scenes. The EP "Människornas ögon" is based on a reading by Bo Bergman, and "Naima" includes the voice of actress Naima Wifstrand. His interest in China is evident in his music through voices and recordings from the country. Appelqvist often collaborates with amateur vocalists, creating a brittle and fragile sound. He has also composed music for various theatre productions at Dramaten, Stockholms stadsteater, and Malmö Stadsteater.
