Happy Refugees are a British post-punk band from London, formed in 1981. Known for their quirky blend of DIY garage rock, shambling post-punk, and delicate introspection, they are recognized as one of the last bands of the DIY era. Their sound has drawn comparisons to influential acts such as The Fall, Swell Maps, and Captain Beefheart.
