Hardy Fox (March 29, 1945 - October 30, 2018) was a co-founder of The Residents and The Cryptic Corporation, serving as the primary composer for The Residents until 2017. He began releasing solo material under his real name in 2012 and retired from The Residents and The Cryptic Corporation in 2015. In October 2017, Fox revealed that he was Charles Bobuck, confirming his involvement with The Residents. He continued to release music under his real name following this announcement. In September 2018, Fox posted his own obituary on his official website and social media, anticipating his passing. His death from brain cancer was announced by his label on October 30, 2018. He was married.
