Harry Beckett was a jazz trumpeter, flugelhorn player, and composer, born on May 30, 1935, in St. Michael Parish, Barbados. He passed away on July 22, 2010, in London. Beckett first played the cornet in Salvation Army bands and became a resident of the UK in 1954. He worked with a group led by Leslie "Jiver" Hutchinson and was a sideman for forty-six years, also being a member of an unspecified group.
