Harry Mahabir is the leader of the BWIA Indian Orchestra of Trinidad and Tobago. He began his musical journey at the age of 15 when he joined an orchestra led by Oustad Nazir Mohammed, from whom he received early training. Mahabir studied Indian music in India from 1965 to 1967 on a scholarship. In recognition of his contributions to music, he was awarded the Hummingbird Silver Medal in 1972. Additionally, he has provided background music for several films, including "Ram Aur Shyam" while in India.
