Hater was an American rock supergroup that originated in Seattle, Washington, in 1993. Primarily driven by Soundgarden bassist Ben Shepherd, the band was formed as a side project. The lineup included Soundgarden drummer Matt Cameron, guitarist John McBain (formerly of Monster Magnet and later a member of Wellwater Conspiracy alongside Cameron and Shepherd), and bassist John Waterman for their self-titled album. Additionally, Devilhead vocalist Brian Wood, who is the brother of Mother Love Bone vocalist Andrew Wood, contributed to the group, along with Alan Davis, who played bass for their second album.
