Head Of David was an influential alternative rock band formed in the early 1980s in The Black Country, West Midlands, UK. Known for their punk and industrial overtones, they are often recognized as a precursor to Godflesh, as ex-Napalm Death member Justin Broadrick played drums for the band before founding Godflesh. The band disbanded in 1991, but members Stephen Burroughs, Eric Jurenovskis, Paul Sharp, and Dave Cochrane continue to perform together. The lineup included Stephen Reuben Burroughs on vocals, Eric Jurenovskis on guitar, Dave Cochrane on bass from 1986 to 1989, Paul Sharp on drums from 1986 to 1987, and Justin Broadrick on drums from 1987 to 1989. Bipin Kumar joined as bass and backing vocals in 1991.
