Héctor Tricoche was a Puerto Rican salsa singer born on July 29, 1955, in Juana Díaz, Puerto Rico. He began his professional singing career in 1982 with his first album "Acumulando Puntos," recorded with Orquesta Cábala. That same year, he collaborated with La Terrífica, led by Joe Rodríguez, on the album "Por Todas Partes," which received positive public reception. He also participated with the group Eriguá, led by Eric Figueroa and Eddie "Guagua" Rivera. Tricoche gained significant popularity in 1984 when he joined Tommy Olivencia and his La Primerísima orchestra, performing alongside artists like Frankie Ruiz and Paquito Guzmán. With Olivencia, he recorded four albums that included hits such as "Lobo Domesticado," "Periquito Pin Pin," "No Me Tires La Primera Piedra," and "No Soy Automático." In 1990, he launched his solo career, recording for the TH-Rodven Records label. Some of his notable solo successes included "Macho Pérez," "A Corazón Abierto," "Ese Soy Yo," and "Mujer Prohibida." Héctor Tricoche passed away on July 17, 2022.
