The Heliocentrics is a dynamic collective centered around a core group consisting of Malcolm Catto, Jake Ferguson, and Jack Yglesias. Inspired by the visionary Sun Ra, the collective explores an alternative musical galaxy where Hip-Hop, Funk, Jazz, Psychedelic, Electronic, Avant-garde, and Ethnic music converge around a central theme known as "The One." As of 2018, the line-up includes Malcolm Catto on drums, Jake Ferguson on bass, Jack Yglesias on organ and percussion, Barbora Patkova on vocals, Raven Bush on violin and effects, Dan Smith on guitar and Moog, and Jason Yarde on saxophone.
