Hell Shovel is a recording project started by Jeff Clarke, originally inspired by a song. The project aims to create soundtrack instrumental music. In 2008, Hell Shovel became a touring act in Italy, featuring guest musicians from Italy and France. After a period of inactivity, the project reformed in 2009 in Montreal, Canada, with Dale MacDonald, and later relocated to Toronto.
