Henry Hall was a British musician, composer, and bandleader, born on May 2, 1898, in Peckham, London, England. He was primarily known for his skills on the piano and trumpet and was active in the music scene from the 1920s to the 1950s. Hall served as the resident bandleader at the London, Midland and Scottish Railway's Midland Hotel in Manchester from 1922 to 1933 and held the position of Musical Director for the LMSR's hotel chain from 1923 to 1933. He made his first broadcast from the LMS' Gleneagles Hotel in 1924 and recorded for Columbia Records. Additionally, he was the leader of the BBC Dance Orchestra from 1932 to 1937. Hall is probably most famous for his arrangement of "The Teddy Bear's Picnic" and "Home." He passed away on October 28, 1989, in Eastbourne, Sussex, England.
