Herb Alpert is an American trumpeter, vocalist, composer, band leader, and producer, born on March 31, 1935, in Los Angeles, California. He co-founded a notable music group in 1962 with his partner. Alpert was married in 1973 and is the father of a child he had with Sharon Mae Lubin. In recognition of his contributions to music, he was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2006, receiving a Lifetime Achievement Award. It is worth noting that for the song "Rise" and any songs that sample it, the songwriting credit R. Alpert refers to Herb's nephew.
