Herb Hardesty was an American R&B saxophonist, known for his work as a tenor saxophone player. He gained prominence playing in the bands of notable artists, which led to his relocation to Las Vegas in the 1970s, as Fats Domino booked numerous gigs there. Throughout his career, Hardesty collaborated with various legendary musicians, including Frank Sinatra, Tony Bennett, Duke Ellington, Tom Waits, and Dr. John, and he toured with the Count Basie Orchestra. Born on March 3, 1925, in New Orleans, Louisiana, he passed away on December 3, 2016, in Las Vegas, Nevada.
